“There is No Ethical Consumption Under Capitalism”, Insists Student at Elite Private College

Local college student, Thomas Smith, who goes to the #27 ranked school in the country, and whose parents pay full tuition out of pocket, declared in a chant on Friday that there was”No ethical consumption under capitalism”. He did so while protesting a College Republicans event on campus, at which a prominent free-market economist was speaking.

Smith stood outside the door of the event, filming with his iPhone, and expressing the benefits of a classless state with absolute equality. As he spoke, Smith filmed himself extolling the virtues of communism, and declaring capitalism true evil on his iPhone X. Displayed prominently on the back of the phone was a sticker bearing the likeness of communist guerilla revolutionary Che Guevera, with whom Smith claims to have “a lot in common”. He went on to say, “I really see myself in Che you know? I just really admire the way he threw it all away in the name of revolution.”. One has to admire that at least Smith’s impotent demonstration didn’t live up to revolutionary expectations and actually kill anyone or upend any economies.
